Little Heartprints Academy is a nurturing daycare inspired by Montessori and Reggio educational philosophies. We are dedicated to providing individualized programming for children aged 19 months to 4.5 years, fostering their growth and development in a supportive environment.

Summary

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Preschool teacher to join our team at Little Heartprints Academy. In this role, you will create a stimulating learning environment that encourages exploration and creativity while supporting the unique developmental needs of each child.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with Montessori and Reggio principles.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment for all children.
  • Observe and assess children's progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development and daily activities.
  • Encourage socialization and cooperation among children through group activities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom that promotes learning and exploration.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 child care supervisor certification
  • Criminal record check with vulnerable sector
  • Standard Childcare First Aid and CPR: focus on injury and illnesses (has to be up to date)
  • Experience working with young children in an educational setting is essential.
  • Work in a classroom of 8 children with afternoon teacher support.
  • Strong communication skills in English; bilingualism is an asset.
  • Knowledge of special education practices is a plus.
  • Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.

This is a wonderful opportunity to work closely with a Reggio Emilia specialist with over 20 years of expertise, who will mentor and support you in developing and enriching your classroom program through the Reggio Emilia philosophy.

In this role, you’ll gain valuable hands-on experience in child-led learning, with a strong focus on observing, documenting, and planning meaningful activities tailored to each child's development. Daily collaboration with a dedicated team of educators and ongoing communication with families through shared documentation will be essential components of your work.

Starting wage: $20-$23/ hour (negotiable depending on experience and skill level)

Heartland Agency offers holistic services to children and their families that supports the growth and development of their social-emotional and learning needs within a centre-based setting. Our work is grounded in the Reggio Emilia philosophy, and we believe in the power of relationships, the hundred languages of children, and the co-construction of knowledge through a reflective and collaborative approach.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate part-time Pedagogista to guide and support the ongoing development and implementation of Reggio Emilia-inspired practices across our program. This individual will work closely with the Education Coordinator, teachers, educational assistants, therapists and administrators to foster a culture of reflective practice, documentation, inquiry and collaboration.

This position will begin in mid-August, and is based out of our Mayland Heights location (1625 18th Street NE) with travel to other sites.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pedagogical leadership grounded in the Reggio Emilia approach
  • Collaborate with educators to co-construct curriculum and learning environments that are responsive, inclusive and emergent
  • Support the implementation of Reggio Emilia-inspired practices, working hands-on directly in the classroom environment alongside educators
  • Facilitate reflective practice through individual and group mentoring, dialogue and professional development
  • Support and model pedagogical documentation as a tool for research, communication and advocacy
  • Engage in continuous learning and research, bringing current pedagogical insights into the learning community
  • Promote interdisciplinary collaboration across teaching and therapeutic staff
  • Share the Reggio Emilia philosophy through internal presentations, resources and correspondence

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education with a strong background in the Reggio Emilia approach; formal education in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Educational Leadership or a related field is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading the implementation of Reggio-inspired practices in other programs
  • Strong skills in pedagogical documentation and reflective practice
  • Experience working in inclusive or early intervention settings preferred
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and facilitation skills
  • Ability to mentor and support educators and teams with sensitivity, curiosity and depth

Classroom Program Unit Funding (PUF) Aide

Children’s Commons Ecological Society (CCES) is currently seeking a Classroom Program Unit Funding (PUF) Aide

Interested candidates should:

  • Have an early child care certification
  • Have experience working with children with ASD and neuro-diverse children
  • Have experience working with children aged 4-6 years old
  • Have experience with collaborative problem solving model and sensory regulation
  • Have experience and/or knowledge of working in an emergent curriculum environment and the Reggio Emilia philosophy
  • Be flexible to planning to changes as the day requires - based on weather or the interests of the children
  • Enjoy collaboration and working in a team planning environment
  • Have or be willing to take first aid certification; current (within 6 months) criminal record and vulnerable sector check
  • Have the ability to get to our Rosemont/Confederation Park location in NW Calgary

This position will:

  • Work directly to support children with ASD and nero-diversity within the classroom
  • Have you spending lots of time outdoors except in extreme weather
  • Have you be a part of weekly team planning and IPP meetings relating to individual student goals
  • Be approximately, 3 days per week for half time work, based on school calendar (Tuesday, Thursday and Alternating Fridays)
  • Pay $20 per hour to start
